Services provided will offer the framework for the proposed CHSR Los Angeles to Palmdale section.

December 1st, 2012, San Diego, Calif. – Vertical Mapping Resources, Inc., a leading photo-grammetric and geospatial land information firm with offices in California and Arizona, was recently contracted to provide digital mapping and color orthophotography services to support the design of the proposed CHSR Los Angeles to Palmdale section.

Due to the large scope of the project; the largest public infrastructure project in the nation; the environmental review is being conducted in two parts: at the statewide level followed by a more specific project-level review of each of the nine sections of the system. Each project section is moving through this process at a different pace.  The Palmdale to Los Angeles section of the 800-mile system is 58 miles long. This section travels southwest to Sylmar and then south to Los Angeles Union Station, where it will connect with the Los Angeles to Anaheim and Los Angeles to San Diego sections

VMR is tasked with providing 1”=100’ topographic mapping, with 2’ contours, and digital color orthophotography of the entire LA to Palmdale CHSR alignment.  The project includes acquisition of color aerial photography for the stereoscopic feature collection and surface modeling.  VMR will also produce a color orthophoto mosaic of the alignment with a .5’ pixel resolution.  All products will be delivered in CALTRANS standards and in full compliance with their ABC checklist.  Current project total is approximately $400,000.
