Precision Scanning

At Vertical Mapping Resources, Inc., our digital scanning equipment is the most advanced in the industry. Utilizing Z/I Imaging’s PhotoScan precision scanner, VMR provides complete scanning services to our clients in Engineering, Land Surveying, Architectural, GIS and other related fields.

PhotoScan is superior in quality and precision and offers accurate images at a price and performance that cannot be matched by its competition. The PhotoScan system incorporates scanning technology developed by Carl Zeiss, Germany, a world leader in photogrammetric optics and mechanical systems. PhotoScan consistently outperforms and provides extremely high scanning speed (less than 7 minutes for a 14 micron scan of a 236 x 236 mm film for either color or black/white imagery). This throughput is outstanding for color films.

As a precision scanner with a high-throughput rate, PhotoScan is the preferred scanner in photogrammetric production shops. PhotoScan has years of proven production in providing high-resolution digital images from film. PhotoScan offers incomparable speed and selectable resolutions ranging from 7 to 224 microns. Traditional scanners cannot match the resolution or speed of our production scanner. VMR’s clients can depend on PhotoScan to provide the accuracy and precision needed to produce digital images that preserve both the radiometry and geometry of hardcopy film.

Some highlights of working with VMR’s PhotoScan:

  • Scans original images from roll without cutting the film
  • Digitizes multiple images automatically
  • Processes vast data quantities efficiently
  • Meets or exceeds all photogrammetric requirements for maximum geometric and radiometric accuracy without resampling
  • Geometric accuracy: Less than 2 microns per axis RMS error
  • Geometric precision: 1 micron

The integrity, ease of use, and speed of PhotoScan configurations combine to give our clients a significant productivity boost for each project. With the scanner's superior optical integrity and geometric accuracy, and high performance workstations, the result is incomparable. If you're ready to improve productivity, image quality, and precision, it's time to turn to Z/I Imaging and Vertical Mapping Resources.
