VERTICAL MAPPING RESOURCES TO MAP ICONIC PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY

Scottsdale, Arizona, August 26th 2005 – Scottsdale, Arizona-based Vertical Mapping Resources (VMR) has been contracted by a well-known southern California development group to map much of the state’s iconic coast. For this project, VMR will be providing black-and-white orthophotography, digital terrain models including 2’ contours, and design scale planimetrics for well over 35 miles worth of roadway along California’s scenic Pacific Coast Highway. The project will encompass the mapping of some of the west coast’s most beautiful beach cities and shorelines. The stretches of roadways to be mapped reside in a variety of California landscapes including Malibu Beach, San Mateo County, and Orange County. Caltrans, the state agency responsible for transportation related initiatives, has received Vertical Mapping’s assistance in the past and will be the ultimate benefactor for this project. The products delivered by VMR will immediately help with current construction and maintenance projects already underway in the area.
