VERTICAL MAPPING RESOURCES EXPANDS TECHNOLOGY
Scottsdale, Arizona, August 25th, 2003 –Vertical Mapping Resources, Inc. (VMR) is pleased to announce a new addition to their family of high-end supercomputers to increase turnaround times on its fast-paced, high tech mapping projects.
The latest arrival is a custom-built Dell PowerEdge 4600 workstation running on Windows 2003 and mounted with Z/I Imaging’s OrthoPro software. The workstation features quad (4) Intel XEON 3.0 GHz processors (with hyper-threading technology), eight gigabytes of RAM and a terabyte’s worth of ultra fast SCSI hard drives. Nicknamed ODIN because of its power, this new system is the flagship of VMR’s orthophoto department having the ability to concurrently crunch four color orthophotos, one gigabyte each, in about ten minutes. This will result in a tremendous increase in turnaround times on VMR projects and towards its clients.
