VERTICAL MAPPING RESOURCES BEGINS WORK ON EXTENSIVE LA OSA PROJECT

Scottsdale, Arizona, January 20th 2006 – Scottsdale, Arizona-based Vertical Mapping Resources (VMR) is providing black-and-white orthophotography, digital terrain models including 2’ contours, and design scale planimetrics for over 62 square miles of desert landscape just south and west of Eloy, Arizona. This particular project’s immense size and low vegetation make it conducive to time saving auto-correlation techniques. VMR will be using auto-correlation to construct a grid of elevation points. VMR will then collect break lines to supplement the digital elevation model and provide the final product a cartographically correct appearance. The final mapping deliverables for this project will reveal the water flow network for a series of large washes that currently reside in the expansive area.
