VERTICAL MAPPING RESOURCES JOINS FORCES WITH VALLEY PARTNERSHIP ON
PRO BONO COMMUNITY PROJECT

The Foundation for Blind Children Receives Aerial Mapping Services in Support of Major Renovation

Scottsdale, Ariz., Nov. 5, 2008 – Vertical Mapping Resources Inc. (VMR), a leading Scottsdale, Ariz.-based integrated aerial mapping and geospatial land information company, has joined forces with other Valley Partnership members on the 21st annual Valley Partnership Community Project in support of the Foundation for Blind Children.

VMR provided its aerial mapping services to the project, which aided in the development of a master plan for the exterior renovation project. Upon completion, the project will create an atmosphere of learning and adaptive recreation for visually impaired students. The major exterior renovation project includes orientation and mobility training; cane walking; tactile and sensory interaction; a shady play environment for glare intolerant students; and adaptive swing sets.

“This is our second year supporting the Valley Partnership Community Project with our aerial mapping services,” said Bret Okraski, director of consulting and development for VMR. “By taking a series of overlapping photographs from the sky and viewing the images in a 3D environment, we generate a digital map detailing cultural and topographic features. Our detailed map enables the architects and engineers to take the existing landscape and transform it into a functional and serene outdoor environment.”

Members of Valley Partnership will be working feverishly on Saturday, Nov. 8, to complete the renovation project. Sponsorships, donations and volunteers are still being accepted. For more information on the project or to find out how you can get involved, contact Monica Sanjines at Valley Partnership at 602-266-7844 Ext. 2 or msanjines@valleypartnership.org.
